John Deere Yield Documentation Specialty Crops

For years, large row crop farmers have leveraged the power of georeferenced yield information to improve the efficiency, profitability and environmental footprints of their farm. HVC growers, however, have relied upon the knowledge and intuition of their field managers to manage variability, normally only being able to manage to the block level. Yield Documentation – Specialty Crop allows HVC growers and their trusted advisors to drill into crop variability and manage resources appropriately. These drives improved efficiency, quality, profitability, sustainability, and perhaps most importantly, crop consistency across the block.

Yield Documentation, Specialty Crop enables producers to document harvest information from weight-based, conveyor driven harvesting equipment.*

*Typical use includes harvesting potatoes, onions, and sugar beets, but is not limited to those crops.

Yield Documentation, Specialty Crop is compatible with the G5/G5^Plus, G5/G5^Plus Universal Display, 4600 CommandCenter™ Display, 4240 and 4640 Universal Displays, and GreenStar™ 3 2630 Display. Displays document and provide real time detailed information for yield, moisture, percent trash, load tracking, and data management.

Based on this harvest information, the customers can create prescription maps within the Operations Center. These prescription maps can be used for the next production steps to apply seeds, fertilizer and crop care.

Required components:

• G5/G5^Plus CommandCenter™ or G5/G5^Plus Universal Display
• 4600 CommandCenter™ or 4240/4640 Universal Display with 19-2 software update
• GreenStar™ 3 2630 Display
• Yield Documentation, Specialty Crop (UCC2 Application Controller, StellarSupport™ activation, UCC2 Application Controller to controller area network [CAN] bus harness)
• StarFire™ 6000 or StarFire 3000 Receiver
• Third-party yield controller sending RS232 or CAN data via UCC2 Application Controller connection

NOTE: Yield Documentation, Specialty Crop harvest data is only compatible with the John Deere Operations Center.

Yield information is measured and georeferenced in the field and transmitted automatically to John Deere Operations Center where it can be reviewed during harvest to detect needed operational changes or after harvest as growers plan for next year’s crop.

Based on the harvest information, the customers can create prescription maps within the Operations Center.*
